About Goobie Woobie Games
Games so silly they are good, made to play together. Goobie Woobie Games is a set of browser games for groups, made for people who want to have fun with coworkers, family and friends without installing anything.
The idea
Lots of people try to play during work hours and hit the same wall: the work computer does not let them install anything. Other groups want to play together from a distance, but half the crowd is on a phone, the other half on a laptop, and nobody wants to create an account. Goobie Woobie Games was born to solve that: everything runs in the browser, with no sign-up and no download.
Pick a game, create a room, send the invite link or show the QR code. In under a minute everyone is at the same table, with the rules explained by an animated tutorial.
What you will find here
Today there are four games, all designed for groups and short matches of 3 to 15 minutes. The rules are easy to learn, nobody is out for good, and bots can fill the table when people are missing.
- Goob Tower: 2 to 6 people. Pull out a wooden block, put it on top and keep the tower standing.
- Virada!: 3 to 8 people in Classic and 3 to 10 in Lightning. A card game with a bomb, a whirlwind and a Lightning mode.
- Fake Goob: 3 to 12 people. Everyone knows the secret word except one.
- The Infiltrator: 4 to 10 people. Tasks, sabotage and votes on a submarine.
Each game has a full guide with the rules, strategy tips and frequently asked questions (in Portuguese for now).
Made in Brazil, for the world
Goobie Woobie Games is an independent project made in Brazil. The site is available in Portuguese, English and Spanish, and rooms keep the language of the person who created them, including the words in Fake Goob. The games are inspired by classic tabletop games, but have their own names, looks and rules.
The Goob
The Goob is our mascot: a pink blob with googly eyes that shows up in every game. Everyone can build their own, with a hat, eyes, glasses, beard and outfit, and your Goob appears at the table for all the other players.
Where we are going
We want more short games for groups, more animations and customization for the Goobs, and more languages, always with the same care to start from fun and keep the technology out of the way. Our decisions are guided by what people actually play and by the reports we receive.
Our principles
- Playing is free and needs no account. The site may show ads between matches, never in the middle of a move.
- We keep as little information as possible, and rooms are deleted shortly after everyone leaves.
- The texts and images have a light look and are recommended for ages 13 and up, with no heavy language.
- Nobody needs to be good at video games. If a game needs a manual, it is not ready yet.
- Accessibility is ongoing work, and we listen to anyone who finds a problem.
